Write for us
We welcome clear, considered pitches about rugby’s grounds, seasons, local customs, and shared matchday life. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a full article without prior discussion.
What to pitch
Propose a focused subject with a lasting reader interest: a ground’s setting, a seasonal pattern, a distinctive matchday custom, or a useful account of how local play fits into its surroundings. We are especially interested in ideas with a clear angle that do not simply repeat familiar match coverage.
What makes a strong proposal
Tell us the central question, the likely shape of the piece, and why it suits United Rugby Journal. Include a short note about relevant experience or access only where it helps explain the proposal. Keep claims proportionate, distinguish observation from fact, and flag any material that would need verification.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a brief summary, and your preferred way to be identified if a piece is commissioned. A pitch is not a promise of publication; we will consider its fit, clarity, and the evidence or material available.
Rugby belongs to its place and season
A match is part of a wider landscape of weather, local habit, and shared time. We look at those details as carefully as the field itself.
